Reflexology for Children & Young People

Reflexology is a gentle, non-invasive, nurturing treatment, suitable for people of all ages from babies to adults. Children tend to respond really well to treatments and its calming effects can be seen quite quickly in the treatment room.

Reflexology may help to support your child through a range of different childhood complaints and issues such as:

  • Bedwetting
  • Asthma
  • Digestive issues
  • Sleep issues
  • Headaches / Migraines
  • Illness recovery
  • Anxiety & Stress
  • Emotional overwhelm
  • Puberty & Adolescence

It can also be a supportive treatment for children with conditions such as ADHD & Autism, who often really benefit from this tactile and soothing treatment.

Reflexology does not cure illness or conditions, but it can help to reduce stress and anxiety. Stress often makes our experience of any symptoms worse. By reducing stress and providing treatments which are calming to our central nervous system, we often experience a reduction in any symptoms being experienced.

In my experience children really enjoy and can benefit from foot, hand & facial reflexology and a combination of one or two of these treatment types can work really well together.

Treatment times for children will vary according to their age with younger children (0-4) requiring treatment times of 15 minutes, school age children can often benefit from 30 minute treatments and older children (10-16) enjoying 45 - 60 minute treatments.

Children up to the age of 16 will require consent of their parent / guardian and for their parent / guardian to be present in the treatment room during treatment.

For children requiring shorter treatment times, it is often beneficial for these to be undertaken as part of a joint treatment either with the parent or with a sibling.

You will receive a form for completion prior to your first appointment. It is helpful if you can provide as much detail in this form so that we spend less time consulting, and more time in treatment, as particularly with younger children they can get restless if consultation time is too long.

There are some online booking options for children & young people, but please get in touch if these aren't meeting your needs as it is possible to create an appointment that is bespoke to you and your children. Please get in touch with me via email or whatsapp or by completing the enquiry form below.
